Cheap Bedside Tables
Looking for cheap bedside tables? If
so then please continue reading below.
The thing is many cheap bedside tables
offers can seem to good to be true and the truth is they are. If you want a piece of bedroom furniture to
fall apart within a year then go ahead and buy the cheapest possible. The problem is you will soon have
to buy a better quality one real soon.
There a couple of things to remember before
you decide which one to buy.
Build quality is really important and should not be over
looked. Generally you do get what you pay for. The better quality bedside tables will have tongue and groove
joints that are glued together. This makes the legs far more sturdy than bedside tables that have had the
legs nailed in.
Very popular are spindle table legs and bun feet rustic
bedside tables. If this is your desired style then choose carefully. Bun feet look nice in bedrooms that have
an antique feel but can be unstable if the table has been badly made while spindle legs also look
fantastic in the same setting. However being "turned" to create the spindle does mean that the the legs
are weaker and liable to break if knocked over. If you are on a budget I would avoid these types of
cheap bedside tables and opt for a table with four strong legs. It may not look as classy but
will give you years of service.
If you need a space to put away medication, eye glasses
or remote controls then choose a table that has a drawer. Left out, these items can leave your bedroom
looking untidy and not leave enough room on your bedside table for essentials such as an alarm clock,
glass of water etc.
Look carefully inside the drawer to see what it's base
is made of. If it's very cheap it is likely to be made of ply. This is OK if you only need to use it for
light items but if you need to put heavier things inside it you should look for wood bases. Ply bends very
easily and weighty items will force the base away from the drawer making it unusable.
Often manufacturers will cut down on cost by using low
quality drawer handles. Look out for handles secured with a screw barely long enough to secure the
handle.
If you are on a budget it is likely that you will have
to settle for a self assembly bedside table. In reality, there shouldn't be too much to put together so you
won't need to be an expert DIY'er to succeed. Pay a little more and you can find ready assembled tables for
around $60 that are of a good enough quality they should last for many years.
If you are prepared to undertake careful research you
will find quality cheap bedside tables at a price you wouldn't have believed
possible.
